Retirement – Mick Curtis

Mick Curtis, Mechanical Fitter with Clarke Chapman Manufacturing Division at Gateshead retired on 8th March 2023 after just over 43 years with the Company.  Mick started with the Company in 1979 in the apprenticeship training school, once ‘out of his time’, Mick was appointed a Mechanical Fitter at the old CC, Victoria Works site before the transfer to Saltmeadows Road site.  Mick’s experience and knowledge have been integral to the work produced at Gateshead, having worked on numerous contracts/equipment over the years at Gateshead as well as working at customer sites.  Mick is one of the founding members of the Gateshead Golf Society and arranges a tournament every year to raise money for the QE Critical Care Unit in Gateshead where an ex-CC employee, John Storey (deceased) was cared for before he passed away. In memory of his fellow colleague, Mick has donated his retirement gift from the Company to this charity.

We all wish Mick all the very best in his retirement and thank him for his loyal service to the Company.
