Dudley Bartlett Excels on International Stage

Stothert & Pitt’s Spares Manager Represents England Over 55’s at World Masters Indoor Hockey Tournament

Dudley Bartlett, renowned for his dedication and expertise as the Spares Manager at Stothert & Pitt in Bristol, recently showcased his athletic prowess on an international stage.

Representing England over 55’s, Dudley participated in the highly competitive 2024 World Masters Indoor Hockey tournament held over the Easter weekend in Nottingham. This prestigious event attracted a staggering 87 teams, encompassing both men’s and women’s teams across various age groups ranging from over 40’s to over 65’s.

Despite the stiff competition, Dudley’s team, England over 55’s, demonstrated remarkable skill and teamwork throughout the tournament. Their journey through the competition was filled with intense matches and moments of sheer determination. However, their quest for the top prize was halted in the semi-final, where they faced a formidable opponent in Wales. Despite a valiant effort, England over 55’s narrowly lost to Wales with a score of 4-3, narrowly missing out on a spot in the final.

Undeterred by the setback, Dudley and his teammates displayed resilience and sportsmanship as they faced Germany in the battle for bronze. Though the outcome didn’t favour them, their performance throughout the tournament was commendable, earning them a well-deserved fourth-place finish.

This achievement not only highlights Dudley’s versatility and talent but also underscores the camaraderie and competitive spirit that define the world of Masters Indoor Hockey. Congratulations are certainly in order for Dudley and all the participating teams who showcased their skills and passion for the sport during this memorable event.
