Clarke Chapman Services (CCS) recently completed a contract to strengthen the crane gantry at Alcan's Aluminium Plant. This involved the installation of strengthening plates and bracing members along both sides of the gantry capping channel. The project posed a challenged to CCS engineers owing to the difficult access along the gantry and the need for the strengthening plates to be welded in situ.
The contract was completed ahead of time and to the clients exacting safety standards. Based on CCS's performance, an order for a second gantry has been awarded.
