Major structural repairs were recently completed on four large Rail Container Cranes in Birmingham and Manchester by Clarke Chapman Services (CCS). The work comprised the removal of the cross travel girder rail plates and the installation of new plates and load testing to the complete satisfaction of the client.
The duration of the contract spanning 32 weeks saw CCS engineers working in diverse weather conditions ranging from snow, torrential rain to heatwaves.
In Manchester, CCS engineers witnessed from the cranes the queues of ITV's X-Factor hopefuls during auditions which was also featured in a photograph in a national newspaper with the cranes in the background.
