Clarke Chapman Services (CCS) recently undertook a contract to refurbish a Stothert and Pitt tower crane which was originally installed in 1976 for a leading UK ship repair yard. As part of the work undertaken by CCS, it was necessary to dismantle the crane to install a new slew ring and to carry out structural repairs. The contract was awarded based on CCS past performance on previous contracts and in particular their experience in the field of lifting operations and health and safety legislation.
