Clarke Chapman Manufacturing Ltd recently secured a contract to overhaul a ships Jib Crane for the MoD. The high integrity crane off the RFA Rosalie was manufactured by Clarke Chapman back in the 1970s and was designed to lift on board the ships stores and ammunition.
The overhaul comprised a complete strip down of the crane to bare metal, where it was shot blasted and repainted, all mechanical / hydraulic parts were overhauled and repaired, re-assembled with complete rewiring of the electrical systems.
